Business classification

KBLI 2025: existing licenses remain relevant.

BPS explains that the introduction of KBLI 2025 does not automatically require a new business license. Existing licenses remain valid under the transition described in its announcement.

What to check: whether the conversion only changes a code, or whether your business purpose and scope are changing. The latter can require action through the relevant systems.

Where business substance is unchanged, the official explanation provides for automatic conversion. Review your actual records and the applicable conversion before amending company documents.

Business licensing

Government Regulation 28/2025 and risk-based licensing.

This regulation introduced the updated framework for risk-based business licensing. Businesses should check the current requirements for the actual activity rather than relying exclusively on older guidance.

What to check: the activity, its risk classification, the applicable standards or licenses and any supporting requirements before operation.
